Advertising in text or graphics? What works better with the readers?

Why the text?
If you run a blog, you are well aware of how easy it is to discourage the reader with the intrusive advertising content. In this case, it is definitely safer to add the affiliate link in the text itself, to camouflage it a bit, so that it will not be obvious. Thanks to this, you will avoid unpleasantness related to allegations of commercialization of your website. It is therefore the safest solution. But how does this translate into effectiveness?
Advertising in content? For whom?
Let’s not hide it, most people who buy products through your recommendation, are regular and loyal readers. Therefore, adding affiliate links to the text guarantees that they will definitely see it. If someone visits your site for the first time or does it rarely, they may not even reach the end of the post, thereby avoiding the ads. Therefore, there is a risk that not all of your blog or website visitors will receive advertising messages. It is worth rethinking in which part of the text to place them.
Or maybe graphics?
Placing advertising on graphics is so dangerous that it can discourage readers from starting. Overloading the site with banners is not the best idea, especially since more and more people use different types of software that block advertising content in browsers. It is worth mentioning that Poland is the world leader in blocking advertisements and according to research, almost every second internet user is using Adblock! On the other hand, this is definitely the most prominent way to promote selected products or store. In the end, advertising on graphics is not only about the banners, but also, for example, widgets!
If graphics, then what kind?
Well, this is one of the most important questions to ask before publishing graphics. The banners prepared by advertisers are often not particularly attractive, which is why it is sometimes worth betting on your own creative ideas or inviting a specialist to cooperate. If the prepared creation is interesting, it will definitely catch the attention of users, both permanent and new. However, it is worth paying attention to the too intrusive call to action, it should encourage you to click, therefore, abandon the imperative. See for yourself will work better than click and buy! Another option worth considering is the use of widgets that you can easily match the aesthetics of your website with a simple generator.
Summary
It is difficult to state clearly which method brings better results, because everything depends on the specificity of the site, its users and the frequency of the ad’s appearance. So try to test different options, to see what works best.
